Born in Seoul, Korea, Georganna has an appreciation for Asian art—its deep reverence for nature and the vitality of its direct, spontaneous use of brush and ink. She incorporates these qualities in her own work, focusing upon gesture and movement as they express the essence and vitality of her subjects. Georganna graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) and Villanova University. At PAFA, she received multiple awards including the Animal Purchase Prize, The Lance Roy Lauffer Memorial Prize, and the Wild Animal Prize. Her work can be found in both international and national collections. She shows widely and is represented in galleries including Stanek Gallery in Philadelphia and Red Raven Art Company in Lancaster. In addition to workshops on the East Coast, Georganna has been teaching painting, drawing, print making and mixed media classes for 12 years at the Wayne Art Center and also at Chester Springs Studio at Historic Yellow Springs, where she has her studio.
