Horsehair & Feather Raku Vessel (Decorative)
Wheelthrown, burnished with terra sigillata, raku fired, horsehair and feathers applied by hand at 1300 degrees, waxed and buffed. Each horsehair and feather raku vessel tells the story of the objects applied immediately upon removal from the kiln. The carbon imprints of the feathers and horsehair, along with smoke absorbed into the pot, make unique markings on each vessel. After the final firing, these pieces are waxed and burnished by hand to a soft sheen.

<p>I am a full-time Studio Potter living, working and teaching in Downingtown, PA, and I am elbow deep in love with all things clay! My passion is to create functional and decorative pots that will make your everyday moments beautiful. During the COVID pandemic, I have been experimenting with colored clay, ceramic art beads and jewelry making. Join me for a workshop in my home studio when the pandemic is over!
