A native of Spain, Karina started painting when she was five years old and studied art throughout her formal education. She was especially influenced by the great Spanish artists such as Velazquez and Goya. Since moving to the United States, she has continued her studies with local artists. She uses a variety of mediums including pastels, watercolors and oils, with her favorite medium being pastels because of the freshness of the stroke and the richness of the color. Karina loves painting people in all kinds of settings. Her award-winning work has been displayed at a variety of juried and invitational exhibitions. She is a juried member of the Delaware Valley Art League and a member of the Wayne Art Center, the Philadelphia Water Color Society, the Maryland Pastel Society and the Media Arts Council. Karina is the parent of a current Notre Dame student.
